I wish to hear if anyone out there has come up with a solution to their headlites working properly.
At the present time I have little luck getting Monaco to address the fact that when the headlites go from low beam to high the low beams go out and it causes a dark area and poor lighting at best in the rain. The headlight assembly is out of a Toyota Highlander and they both stay on at high beam.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Thank you'

Hi Ted.....Can't help you but I am interested in your outcome. We have an '07 Contessa. Only have driven it a night twice in 17,000 miles. Don't remember how the lights worked but I will look at them tonight (if I remember) to see if the lows go out. Did you contact Toyota to see if they can sell you a module or switch to get them to work? I had a '69 T-Bird that when you turned the headlights on, the parking lights went out. Ford sold me a headlight switch that kept them on. I'll check back to see how you make out. Good luck,

Bruce

Ted......went out and checked my headlights. The lows do go out on highbeam. But, mine don't look anything like the Toyota Highlander.

Thanks for the response's as this has got me going, I was told that it could be as simple as installing a diferent relay that continues to feed the low beams when the relay closes for the high beams. As a Chief Engineer it makes me wonder is they didn't install heavy enough wire and  in so doing the smart wheel wireing is too light.
Monaco has had plenty of chances to fix it and if this condition persists they hopefully understand they have accepted full resposibility in the event of an accident.
I only wish for a solution and the ability to travel at night.
The invoice for repair to a headlite damaged from whatever stated it was a Toyota Highlander assembly.
Thanks again,
Ted

Good luck and I will see what I can come up with to make both work together. I would think the wiring is heavy enough. It may be they feel it's too much draw on the alternator.

I'll keep subscribing to this post to see what you come up with and if I find something I will let you know.

Whatever you come up with I would recommend changing the bulbs anyway.  I have a 2005 Monterey and the headlights (from a Ford product) were really bad.   You can not align them properly either.  Remember, they are from a Ford Pickup or such.  Anyway, I replaced the bulbs with a product called Night Hawks.  They are super bright and really helped a lot.  I got mine from Western Auto, but I suspect any good parts store will have them.

I replaced my bulbs with silverstars, which helped, but the biggest help (and challenge) was aiming the headlights. A couple of more, and longer arms would have helped a lot. You would think that a company making expensive motor coaches would be able to come up with a better mounting system than a couple of bent strips of aluminum and 8 self-tapping screws.
