Just had our 2006 Monterey 400 Cat (32,000 miles) valves adjusted at the local Eugene, Oregon dealership. Thought I'd let you all know they have a special going on. $340. for adusting valves, oil change, oil filter, prim & secondary fuel filter. + they threw in a lube job. In our case they get to the valve cover thru the bedroom access panel. The mechanics laid down drop cloths from the front door all the way to the opening to protect the carpets and tile. Did a great job. Can recommend Peterson Cat. Not sure if they are just in Oregon or various states. Thought I'd spread the word.
Wish I'd have known. Just had my 08 Patriot Thunder C-13 done in Cheyenne, Wy. Went in originally for a new sending unit for my water/fuel separator. The water in fuel light has been on since we left Daytona Beach 4 months ago. They had a deal on valve adjustments, so at 18000 miles I said why not. 9 hours later, plus a new air filter, 800 bucks gone, and the damn light is still on. Turns out it isn't a Cat sending unit. Tried to get it replaced in Oregon and they said it was a Cat. . . .
On the good side, the facility was clean and I got a "free" Cat hat . . . . LOL

Peterson's is in Redmond near the fairgrounds as well; they do great work. Locations:
Eugene – 541.302.9199
Medford – 541.282.8551
Albany- 541.791.9133
North Bend- 541.756.8708
Redmond- 541.548.8566
Klamath Falls- 541.851.8090
They have many facilities in California also.
I believe Pacific Power Products (aka Pacific Diesel) in Coburg off Roberts Rd. can do the Cat work also, though they don't specifically advertise as a Cat representative, and my experience with them is limited to servicing the Allison transmission as prescribed. They impressed me as to their knowledge and thoroughness as much as Peterson's did. So you have good options for obtaining the most timely appointment to meet your schedule.

I had my C-13- 06 Thunder valve adjustment done in Petersen/CAt on the special, $467.50 included the oil change, etc. Very clean, drop cloths thru the coach, access thru the closet also.

The fellows at the Bend Service Center (Beaver Coach Sales) can service your engine for a fair price also. However, when I had mine done last fall, they didn't check the ECM log as I've seen Peterson's do. I'm not sure the Service Center has the diagnostic scan tool for that, but they said if I had no faults (Check Engine events), there was no need to scan anyway. I dunno, that may be true; but Peterson's scanned as a routine part of the annual service. It's conceivable to me that one could miss a Check Engine or other event that was intermittent, infrequent, very brief, or self-corrected. Such issues might be of some significance and only brought to light by the routine systems scan that Peterson's or other CAT or Cummins service facility do at annual service.
I was pretty confident no such event happened during the year, so when Peterson's in Redmond couldn't get me right in, my coach was already at Bend Service Center, they needed work at their slow time of the year, and the price quoted was reasonable, I let them do the annual service. But if I had noticed a fault during the year, I would have certainly preferred a facility that had diagnostics. And Peterson's $340 is a good value right now.
We've been sitting on our keester for 10 months at home, so reckon we won't get annual service this year. Finances and the economy are not helping right now; bills take precedence over travel. But I've got a full tank of fuel that's aged and needs replacing, so reckon we'll have to bite the bullit and hit the road next month for at least a couple weeks. Monty Rae needs her chassis excercised, and we've had the home-bound blues all summer. Our entry door window is one of those that leak and fog up, so Bend and Dave Root Glass Repair is probably on our itinerary, and Camp Sherman, my favorite haunt, if not the Oregon coast. Hopefully our resources will be improved for next year, and we'll see you guys at a rally or two.

Completed service work at Peterson CAT here in Eugene yesterday. Took advantage of the valve adjustment pricing package. Valve adjustment, oil and filters for $467.00. Professional staff headed up by Bob(shop foreman) were easy to deal with. You can talk with him if you are interested in overnighting in the parking lot.
