Looking to replace 3 broken latches on our closet door and dining table leaf. They are brown, about an inch and a 1/4 long. I have not been able to locate any of them locally. Anyone have these replaced before?

Thanks, Steve

I have gotten mine at Jerry's in Eugene, camping world's are more spendy. Our Monterey has/had 2 per slider. I reverted to a spring loaded curtain rods ( $2.25 ) to keep mine closed during transet. No chance of opening. Also they would rattle even when tightly closed. My present issue is the slider on top. Won't stay attached to the door.

http://www.tropicfast.com/ Tropic Fastners Inc, 255 Semoran Commerce Place Apopka, FL 32703  PH 407-703-1582 or 800-385-5570

Wholesale only $25 minimum order Local campground orders for me. The latches are available in several sizes. Good web site to hunt for our odds and ends non mainstream parts just send a part description and they probably have or can get it.

Tom-
Don't you have a pin lock in the floor door slide to keep your doors from opening?  My rattle comes only from the play in that pin lock, and the Bend Service Center gave me a 2 X 3 in. piece of thin sticky-backed rubbery material that I can cut to fit and insert in the lock mechanism to mute the rattle.  Our top slider had the same problem as yours, and as I recall it had to do with a faulty insert in one of the guides that allowed the door to disconnect.  It was a couple years ago, and I seem to remember trying to tweek that insert myself, but Bend ultimately just replaced the guide.  Seems they have lots of experience with those finicky closet mechanisms.

Joel ... appreciate the input. Thanks for the pin input. Both door's pins are sloppy in their slots ... one of the reasons I went to the rods. Will look into the inserts. I did the same thing with the 2 pocket doors and then decided to place shear curtains on the rods to soften/cutesey up the doorways. I'm sort of anal on the small stuff !! Working the "fix-it" list before heading out to Fountain Hills in Phoenix for the winter.

Seems like I've seen similar "padding" at the 3M displays at hardware stores, Fred Meyer, etc.  The square of material the Bend tech gave me is very thin and rubbery with white peeler plastic covering the sticky side.  May be something similar in the store section with chair leg glides, you know the ones you cut and shape to fit.  By deftly cutting and placing the stuff inside the pin latch mechanism, it will mute that metal-on-metal rattle without interfering with the slide or latch operation.  No need to hassle with the expanding curtain rods if you don't have to.

Tom - Regarding the top slider.  I found that when I slide the door open, the door stop located in the top track would force the plastic latch to open and the slider bracket would disengage.  I tied an electrical tie strap around the plastic latch and it seems to be holding.

Found the parts in a Winnebago parts catalog, exact match. A little pricey at $11.00 each but they do the trick.

I'll check that out. I did the tie wrap and it is working ..... but I do lean towards an "original" parts fix.
