Anyone with an older Beaver, mine is an O1 Marquis, might want to check the sensors on your levelers that show the leveler is retracted.

I was under my coach looking for the problem with my Ride Height Valve and happened to notice a broken wire.
The wire went to one of the retractor sensors.
Upon further investigation I found that all four of my sensors were corroded in the "UP" position.

So my inboard auto level system would show everything up, when in fact the reading was from a defective sensor.

The new sensors have a boot to cover the stroke arm so that it isn't exposed to the under carriage elements.

Thank you. We need to keep an eye on that stuff. I also had a cut wire but every once in a while it would ground out and set off the warning buzzer. Then hit a bump and it would stop. I had a real bugger finding that one. Thanks  Marty

What leveling system do you have and where did you get the new sensors?  We have had some problems with our leveling system (SMC) and did replace the touch pad.

If you have the SMC system that levels on the axles and not the ground you can not see the leveling jacks. That is what sensors are for. So it is very important when routine maintenance is done to the coach that these sensors and the wires to them are inspected. That is why if you are not mechanically inclined and don't service your own coach I believe you are better off to take your coach to  someone or someplace that specializes in coaches. Those people know the things to look at and look for when they are servicing a coach. Marty

My coach is an 01 42' Marquis with SMC auto levelers.

I called Bend Service first and they didn't have any sensors in stock, even if they did I didn't want to make the six hour drive to have them install the sensors. They were trying to order them from Monaco, but Monaco doesn't seem to care about parts for older Beavers.
Bend parts said the last sensors that had were $29.00 each, and there would be an increase when they got the new sensors in.

Bend parts dept told me they were a Cole Hersy switch brake switch, so I called around and found a company here in Portland,ASE Supply that said they carried the part. I took one out and went to ASE and they gave me the part # CH-90043-07.
At ASE the sensors were $28.14 each, but they said if I opened an account the price was $12.00 each. I opened an account and paid $12.00 each for four sensors.

You need to be aware the sensors are really corroded in. I was able to change the front two, but the coach needed to by jacked up to change the two rear sensors. I took it to my service person for that.

Good luck.
