Hello Fellow Beaver Owners, I am looking at upgrading my 2005 Patriot Thunder to HDTV in the front and bedroom. I am looking at the MotoSat HD dish set up. Also upgrading to a 40" TV up front from the 30" and a 26" in the bedroom. Anyone have any experience with RV Outfitters in Bend, OR? Any experience with the MotoSat system? Thanks for any advice you have!

RV Outfitters in is a former (before Monaco) Beaver employee.  He and his next-door neighbor Greg Fulton, an excellent cabinet maker (also former Beaver employee) do excellent work.
Greg and RV outfitters work closely together.
Greg built some cabinets and custom computer desk for me for a 99 Pat. Thunder.

Can recommend them highly!!

Thank You Leah, it's great to know that they know Beavers and do great work. That is very reassuring. I hope to give them my business.

Larry - have used RV Outfitters for several years - good people and knowledgeable.  Jim Sizemore installed an HD Moto-Sat for me last year, replacing a King dome I hated, and did a great job.

Had Sizemore install a 26 Sony Bravia in my 03 Monterey a couple of years ago and I installed the Moto Sat SL5-HD myself. They do great work and so do I. Love having everything in HD. Just stay away from Florida. A Country Coach Friend got quotes in excess of $5,000 for the conversion and that did not include the satellite.

I had an older Motosat removed from my coach and installed a Winegard "Trav'ler Slimline" antenna. With a previous "dome" type antenna we had problems in bad weather due to water on the dome. The Trav'ler is not bothered by the weather and actually folds down flatter than the dome and it gets the HD signal. Just a thought.

I also vote for the Traveler antenna, works great.  Bend Beaver Coach installed mine and per the tech there are many less problems with it vs. dome types.

That is good to know! I am going to look into the traveler and do a little comparison. I already it works great so I may go with it. Does anyone know if the MotoSat or Traveler will work in Alaska?

Larry,
On our rally to Alaska my Wineguard Traveler with Dish Network worked on HD channels at every campground unless we were under a tree.  Coaches with Moto Stat didn’t always get a signal.  Dish also worked better than Direct.

Thanks Garland, We have direct TV at our home in Alaska and in our coach. It's a bummer that Direct will not work on a Traveler Dish system but Dish Network will because I really like Direct TV. I had Dish Network before but when we upgraded to HD at home they would not do anything to help me as far as the equipment required. Direct TV supplied everything we needed at no cost. When I called Dish Network to cancel our service their reply was, " you should have asked, we would have given you the equipment. HELLO! Anyway sorry to ramble on about my own displeasure with Dish Network. But I may have to return to them if I want HD in our coach up here. Thanks again for the info, that definitely gives us something to think about.
