Where does our cat Willie disappear to under the bed? We are afraid to open or close the bedroom slide out until we find him. Even on our hands and knees with a flashlight, we cannot see him. Yet, after a while he simply reappears from under the bed. Is it safe to move the slide out when he's hiding?

Definately not. Get someone to help you find the access to its hiding spot and hopefully you can manufacture a cover to block it.

We had the same problem with our 04 Monterey. There are 2 air vents one on each side. We had to put chicken wire over these 2 vents to stop the cat. With the bed slide out you can lift the foot of the bed and look for your cat. LOTS OF LUCK.....

John and Susan,

On our Montery with a bedroom slide there is a hole big enough for a couple of cats on the closet side (rear) of the bed.  Yours may be the same.  I think the hole's purpose is to allow air flow for the hydro hot radiator that is under the bed.  The matress lays on a carpet covered piece of plywood that is hinged near the head of the bed.  There are two latches inlaid into the plywood at the foot and under the mattress.  The reason the bed opens is to make it possible to inspect and servce the slide machinery.  You can also manually retract the slide with a crescent wrench if there is a failure.

See you at the boat festival!
