OK you guys win. I just sent for a new Pacific Pride membership with Pioneer Fuels. Thank you for the lead. If they debit my checking account for the monthly bill, it will save one more letter in the mail. I like to automate all of my bills if possible. When we are on the road, mail is slow and I do not like to be late with payments. That will work out great.

Yay, we win! (Which is more than I can say about my OSU Beavers. Oh well.) You'll like it Larry. And thanks, Jay, for explaining the distinction between Pacific Pride and Pioneer Fuel - it cleared up why some had cards cancelled and others didn't. Check here also: http://pacificpride.us/
They used to charge my credit card automatically, but switched to our checking acct. in 2008. Works fine for me as long as I remember to keep the account balance adequate and timely. Alicia, who retired this summer, used to email local outlet prices each Friday, but she was doing that on her own as a courtesy to RV customers. She spent a lot of her own time compiling 2 lists for both halves of the Country. Unfortunately, the company elected not to have her efforts continue by another employee, so I kind of miss that - if you were going on a long trip, you could get an idea of the prices you'd be facing.
There has been a lot of outlet shuffling the last year or so, probably due to the economy affecting their distributors. I've received many emails from Pioneer Fuel's office girls listing closed facilities, or at least closure of affiliations, and a few remodeling temporary closures, and a few new or moved locations. So be sure you get the latest Pacific Pride Directory from them and a list of updates that may affect it. I think new Directories are published in May. You can also get updated site locations at http://www.pacificpride.com.

In Arizona, we purchased some diesel from a Shell station. We got a 10 cent discount because we shopped at FRY's grocery stores and used our FRY's customer card. Fry's is part of the Kroger family so, I am trying to find out if this discount is nationwide. Does anyone have any information on this?

I believe Fry's was one of the many chains purchased by the Fred Meyer conglomerate in the late 1980's, and thus became part of Kroger's when it bought Fred Meyer in the late 1990's. When you purchase products at Freddie's and show your "Rewards" card, you accumulate Rewards points. A Rewards card gets you at least 3 cents/gal. discount anytime. Purchasing $100 in Rewards qualifying merchandise each month at Fred's earns a 10 cent/gallon fuel discount at Fred Meyer fuel stations through the end of the following month, and a minimum 500 Rewards points earns quarterly cash coupons also. This month they began extending the fuel discount to Shell stations as well as Freddie's stations.
If you use a Fred Meyer Mastercard to pay for the fuel, the discount is 15 cents/gallon. As I understand the rules, only one discounted fueling can be used per month per 100 points earned; so, for example, to fill your tank on two seperate occasions in a month, you'd have to have accumulated at least 200 fuel points. By the same token, to fill your coach and then your toad in the same visit, you'd need 200 points since they're separate vehicle fuelings.
One can assume similar Rewards programs apply to other stores under the Kroger umbrella. You would have to contact Kroger corporate to ask if a particular Kroger affiliate's card and earned fuel points will get a discount at any other Kroger-affiliated fuel center: 1-800-576-4377.

In researching the Pilot/Flying J web site they say that as of September 1, 2010 the RV Real Value Card is still valid. Here are some of the current benefits as of 9/1/10. 3 cents off diesel at the RV islands only. Not in the truck lines at this time. They're working on it. 2 cents off gasoline 10 cents off propane !/2 off their new dumping fee Discounts apply to 300 gallons of diesel and 100 gallons of gasoline per month. If you need a card all you need to do is to ask the person at the fuel desk The RV Real Value cards are not valid in New Jersey and Wisconsin. Any new benefits will be communicated through their website. Hope this makes you feel better.
Effective September 1st - Use your RV Real Value Club card at all 550+ Pilot Flying J locations!
Both Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J are grateful to our longtime loyal RV customers and families. Effective September 1st, Pilot Flying J will have a merged loyalty program. The RV Real Value Club Card will be accepted at all 550+ Pilot Flying J locations. You now have an expanded network of locations for great fuel and other discounts!
Mike...I don't think Pilot has RV islands, but the website indicated that all 550 merged fuel stations will honor the RV Real Value card. The website also stated that there are some further refinements needed B4 all the stations are on the same page. Mandy

If the Pilot station does not have RV islands, they probably do not know about the RV card because the discounts do not apply at that station. If you do not know that station' situation, it would pay to phone ahead or at least inquire at the desk before pumping fuel into your tank. When I receive my Pacific Pride card from Pioneer Fuel, I will give them a try. There are fewer rules, and we are welcome to use with the truck lanes.
