There are currently no new rallies scheduled for the NW Region. Bill and I would like to do some hosting, so here are some ideas. Please respond in the forum with your preferences and ideas. New ideas are welcome! We'll try to get some rallies on the schedule for 2012. The intent is to have the rally fee cover camping fees only. There will be options for day trips and "excursions" with most meals planned as potlucks or "separate ticket" restaurant meals. Estimated cost per rally will be at $200 or less for 4 nights, $150 for 3 nights.
Wine Country - Walla Walla, WA (Blue Valley RV Park) Wine Country - Prosser and Lower Yakima Valley, WA (Wine Country RV Park) Wine Country - Upper Yakima Valley, WA (Yakima Nation RV Park, Toppenish) Southern Oregon Coast - Winchester Bay, OR (Winchester Bay RV Resort) Northern Oregon Coast - Cannon Beach, OR (Cannon Beach RV Resort) Skagit Valley Tulip Festival - Anacortes, WA (Fidalgo Bay RV Resort) Do Nothing Rally - Sisters, OR (Bend Sisters Garden RV Resort) Explore Mount Rainier - Crystal Mountain, WA (hookups in resort parking lot)
BJ, They would all be a great place for a rally, Fildago Bay, Walla Walla, Cannon beach and anyone of them could be a "Do nothing Rally". Let me know If I can help. Suzie
Sounds great to us Bill, I think the Mosbruckers had been looking for a co host for a wine country rally down in goldendale!
I think a good spot would be at the Evergreen Aviation Museum/wine country Pinote area western OR
But we would sign up for any one on your list!
Jerry,
Small correction. "BJ" is my DW and "Bill" (me) is the DH. Her parents named her "Betty Jeanne". Someone in her college sorority shortened it and it stuck. I am in the co-pilot seat on this project.
I agree with your suggestion. There is a park very close to the Evergreen Museum that was nice when we stayed there a few years ago.
West side Idea, If we did a day/night at evergreen aviation they will allow us to RON (dry) or as you know they do also have some very nice campgrounds in the area. The other spot that may be fun is Spirit Mountain Casino they also allow dry camping. It about a 1.5 hour drive to tillimuck or less to the coast .
They all sound great, hope you can put together some of the rallies. We just spent several days at he Evergreen Aviation Museum and stayed at Old Stone Village RV park it was very nice and it's a short walk to the museum or they have a shuttle if you don't want to walk. There is a IMAX at the museum and a waterpark, lots of winiers in the area, well worth the trip and would go again.
Yesterday (Friday Oct 7) Bill did an old fashioned Email to NW Region Beavers. We've received several Email replies regarding rally ideas. If you're in the NW Region and didn't receive an Email please let us know so we can update our Email address list. Please contact Bill at bsprague@att.net
We are getting some great responses with NW Region rally ideas. So far Beavers have preferenced Sisters OR, Tulip Festival WA, Wine Country Toppenish, WA and additional rally ideas of Evergreen Aviation Museum (Spruce Goose) McMinnville OR, Lost Lake Resort and Puget Sound Cruise WA, Explore Mt Rainier WA and a repeat of Shuckin n Diggin Hood Canal WA.
More ideas needed! We'd like to make 2012 a fun year in the NW for Beavers!
Here are two ideas just south of Moses Lake is a great RV Golf Park if we could get a group together for some golf and Bar BQ we are about 1 hours drive to Legends casino/wine country. If we did this in late Sept they have a hot air balloon festival at Prosier
I know the mosbuckers are also looking at a rally in goldendale blues festival
We stayed at the Sage Hills Golf and RV Park 12 Miles south of Moses Lake in September for a week.Great course, pull through sites,$ 89.00 per day for rv site, unlimited golf and cart .they also have a restaurant .We would certainly attend in september again. CECIL/DIANE SALMON,2001 PATRIOT THUNDER
The folks at Sage Hill will work with us on the cost, on my last stop we camped and played after 2 pm both for $55 includes the cart. Cecil is correct its a great course and they have will provide fire rings for a campfire = Bar BQ we cam count the stokes!
Hey Bill it's a great spot for Sea Storys. I hope everyone knows the difference between a Sea Story and a fairy tale one starts with "Once upon a time" the other starts with "This is no Bull" (I cleaned it up a bit for the forum)
Location: Mountain Shadow RV Park, Todos Santos.Baja Sur. Mexico
Hi Jerry and Chris........in late October Jane and I will be passing through Oregon from Montana on our way to Mexico . We are hoping the story of our travels doesnt start with........"it was a dark and stormy night....."
plans were revised......now heading north from Baja California in April 2012.

Hi Jeremy and Jane, what can I say the NW tend's to be wet from Oct-April.
We might be able to get the rig out if we knew when you plan to head west?
If you are heading West from the Park out the West side you can go south toward Bosie (I-84) or North toward Bozeman(I-90) both are good routes, I like I-90 less chance of Ice. Let us know your route and dates perhaps we can meet some where. If your planning a stop in Seattle that works also.
In Brooks, Oregon, just north of Salem is Antique Powerland (antique powerland.com.) They host the Great Steam Up the last weekend in July and first weekend in August. It's an interesting event featuring all manner of steam powered machinery-logging mills, trains, tractors, etc. It might be of moe interest to the men. Ladies might like the Oregon Garden in Silverton, Oregon. There are also numerous wineries in the area, and the Evergreen Museum of Flight in McMinnville.
