I was just thinking about the message I received yesterday from Monaco, this message was to advise me of a Monaco rally being held in Salem, Aug. 3-7. It's really a conflict with the western swing rally being held Aug. 4-8th and this seems very odd to me, why would they over lap our rally?

I do know that our Beaver rally is full so this may be of interest to anyone heading to the FMCA rally.

--
Regards, Jerry

Hello from Dawson Creek, BC. We have made it this far and have had a wonderful tour of Dawson Creek. The rally started in Red Bluff, CA and everyone had joined by the time we reached Burlington, WA. We crossed the border with only one coach being pulled over and inspected by the Canadian Customs guards. The drive from there north has seen a few showers, but we have had wonderful views of the outstanding scenery, river valleys, and mountains. We have also had a lot of luck in viewing the wild animals. As a group, we have seen a grizzly, a balck bear with cubs, a black bear in the river, a couple of brown bears, quite a few moose and deer viewings, bald eagles, a coyote, a kit fox, a duck with 5 duckling attempting to cross the road, quite a few different species of birds, and a horde of mosquitoes at the Huble Homestead. We have also had some minor and a major problem involving the coaches, but I think that with the problems and delays experienced by some, we will have all the coaches back together today in Dawson Creek.

While in Chetwynd, we picked up a hitch-hiker who will accompany us through Alaska and southward back to San Diego. He will visit with us at the International Rally in Harrisburg, go to Lake Tahoe, and truthfully we may keep him with us until after the balloon rally in Albuquerque. His name is Francis the Traveling Gnome and he is the mascot of the Chetwynd Visitor Center where there are numerous chainsaw carvings which are quite intricate. As a favor to the visitor center we are taking Francis with us and we will send periodic reports and photos back to the visitor center who will have articles regarding his travels posted in their local newspaper. Great advertising for the club.

We will attempt to send another update when we get to Whitehorse, Yukon next week. Hope all you Beavers are having a good time at the on-going rallies and have safe travels.
Roy Warren
